PORTLAND, Ore., July 21 — Rockstar Energy Open returns to Portland, Ore. August 14-16, transforming the downtown area into an epicenter of skateboarding, music and culture for one unforgettable weekend free and open to the public. Alongside world-class Street and Park competitions, a free music festival will feature two nights of waterfront concerts that will take place on Friday and Saturday, immediately following each day’s skateboarding competitions. Friday evening’s concert lineup kicks off with Toronto punk favorites PUP, before one of emo’s fastest-rising bands Hot Mulligan, takes over the stage. On Saturday, Baltimore’s hardcore standout Angel Du$t sets the tone before acclaimed UK rock and grunge band Basement closes out the weekend series.
Now entering its third year, the Rockstar Energy Open continues to bring together the next generation of skateboarding phenoms, world-class legends, and the music shaping today’s youth culture for a free, three-day celebration built in partnership with Rockstar Energy to Live Loud™. The event features Men’s and Women’s Street and Park competitions, live music, art, food, culture and community, creating one of the most unique action sports festivals in North America.

British rock band Basement returns with Wired, its first album in eight years and a reunion with Run For Cover Records. A hard reset for the band, Wired captures a renewed creative energy while staying true to the elements that have defined Basement since forming in 2009: growling guitars, soaring choruses, and emotionally charged songwriting. In 2025, Toronto punk band PUP released Who Will Look After The Dogs?, its pummeling and cathartic fifth LP via Little Dipper / Rise Records. The band’s most immediate, no-frills and hard-hitting full-length yet, the 12-track album finds frontman Stefan Babcock at his most reflective and vulnerable, excavating his relationships with others and himself while embracing a newfound sense of hope. The album captures the livewire chemistry that has fueled PUP’s critically acclaimed career, rediscovering the joy of making loud music together while retaining the unpredictable energy and acerbic bite that have defined the band for more than a decade.
Baltimore’s Angel Du$t returns with Cold 2 The Touch, a ferocious, melody-driven album that further showcases the band’s signature blend of punk, hardcore and rock & roll. Formed in 2013 by vocalist Justice Tripp, Angel Du$t has spent more than a decade pushing beyond genre boundaries, and its latest release delivers crushing riffs, infectious hooks and an all-star lineup of collaborators from across the hardcore scene.

Rockstar Energy Open is free and open to the public, with VIP upgrade options available for a fee. In addition to skateboarding competitions and live music, fans can explore local skate shops, food trucks, exclusive merch and interactive sponsor activations – all in a dynamic, festival-style setting. The event features Men’s and Women’s Park and Street competitions with more than 50 top skateboarders from around the globe, including Rockstar Energy athletes Keegan Palmer, Paige Heyn, Chris Joslin and the inaugural Men’s Street champion Lazer Crawford; as well as Olympic medalists such as Tom Schaar and Sky Brown.
