Residents of New York also face high electricity bills, in comparison to the rest of the country. In New York, the average household pay res $162.40 a month in bills – $84.50 more than Wyoming and $52.90 more than the average US bill ($109.50).
At the other end of the scale, Wyoming has the cheapest electricity bills in America, with residents paying just $73 a month on average – $36.50 less than the average US bill. North Dakota, Idaho and Utah also enjoy some of the lowest bills in the country, with residents paying just $74.60, $75.39 and $77.96 a month in electricity bills.
A spokesperson for PlumbingNav said: “It is striking to see the vast disparity between electricity bills across America. In some states, residents are paying over $100 more for their monthly bills than in the US areas with the lowest bills. The significant income gap across different areas also means that higher electricity bills will be a greater burden on some families and households over others, at a time when many are struggling to manage the cost of living”.
