In a central location at Victoria’s Peace Park, the life-sized statue of Mahatma Gandhi stands tall wearing his traditional clothes and holding a walking stick. On June 29, 2026, Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid flowers at its base as a representation of India’s cultural diplomacy and the strong bonds between Seychelles and India during Seychelles’ Golden Jubilee Independence Celebrations.
Reflecting on this monumental day, the artist Naresh Kumar Kumawat expressed his gratitude to the Hon’ble Prime Minister in an X post.
