Bhubaneswar, Sept. 17 (UDN): Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will travel to New Delhi on Thursday as part of the state government’s ongoing efforts to attract fresh investments and promote Odisha as an emerging destination for high-value industries.

Majhi is scheduled to participate in an investment roadshow in the national capital on Friday and is expected to return to Odisha on September 19.
Focus On Semiconductor Investments
The state government is looking to position Odisha as a semiconductor hub, with the sector emerging as one of the key areas of its investment outreach.
Two Odisha government teams are already in Delhi in preparation for the visit. Additional Chief Secretary Hemant Sharma is also scheduled to accompany the Chief Minister.
According to Majhi, meetings have been planned with business groups and representatives from Europe, Japan and South Korea, with several teams having expressed interest in exploring investment opportunities in Odisha.
UAE Outreach Brings Investment Proposals
The Delhi programme follows an investment outreach visit by an Odisha delegation to Abu Dhabi and Dubai from September 9 to 11.
During the three-day visit, the delegation held 52 business engagements, including six roundtable meetings and 46 one-to-one interactions with around 400 industry representatives from the UAE and other Gulf countries.
₹2.43 Lakh Crore Investment Intent
Majhi said eight memoranda of understanding were signed during the UAE visit, while 16 investment intents totalling ₹2,43,162 crore were received.
The proposed investments cover sectors such as aluminium, critical minerals, green hydrogen, logistics, food processing, textiles and semiconductors. The Chief Minister said the proposals could create more than nine lakh employment opportunities, including 6.18 lakh direct jobs.
The upcoming Delhi roadshow is expected to provide another platform for the state government to present Odisha’s investment opportunities and discuss potential projects with prospective investors.
