NICE Completes a range of works to make its Corridor Accident Free

Bengaluru 19 th October, 2023: Dr. M N Anucheth, Jt. Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Bengaluru, inaugurated the gradient correction works between Kanakapura Road and Bannerghatta Road on the NICE Road, which was successfully completed by the Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprises (NICE) Limited.

The gradient correction had been done on the stretch that begins from the Anjanapura Bridge and ends at Puravankara Bridge. The gradient correction works were taken up to meet the new standards of Indian Road Congress in the existing gradient on this stretch. Present at the inauguration were Dr. Anucheth Jt. Commisioner (Traffic), Bangalore, Mr. Shivprakash, DCP South, Bangalore, and from the Company, Mr Mahadev T, VP, Mr D. Prasad, Project Director, Mr Ashok Shetty, CFO, and Mr Sudhakar Hedge, CSO.

Congratulating NICE on the successful completion of the works, Dr.Anucheth said, “This stretch was marked as a Blackspot as per new NHAI standards because of it being accident prone. By altering the gradient, the possibilities of accidents has been reduced drastically. However, commuters need to follow traffic rules as this forms the crux of ensuring an accident free zone.”

Referring to the missing links on the road works, Mr T Mahadev stated that the Company gives utmost priority to the safety of commuters. “We request the pending approvals to be granted at the earliest by the concerned departments so that we would like to complete the missing links in the stretches of NICE ROAD and we join the hands of government to build the image of Brand Bangalore by completing and joining the key missing links to ensure smooth running of traffic on the Corridor” also mentioned about introducing Metro Rail Connectivity in the median of Peripheral Road which connects southern section of all existing Metro Stations from Electronic City to Bangalore International Airport through Tumkur Road.

Mr. Prasad, mentioned that besides the gradient correction, NICE has successfully completed the concretisation of 91.5 kms of Road. Taking this further, NICE also proposes to complete the Bridge widening works at Vrishabhavathi River near Kengeri and Bridge near the Kanakapura Road Interchange, both of these Bridges widening work is expected to commence shortly. Given that safety is of the highest priority, NICE is continuously in touch with the Traffic Police Department and implementing the recommendations of the Department by successfully installing High Mast lights, Stretch Cameras, Speed display boards, Bridge lights amongst others across its Corridor.
