Bengaluru, Aug 11: Navi Mutual Fund today launched its investor awareness campaign focused on index fund investing, using humour and everyday situations to make investing conversations more relatable and accessible for young Indians.
As investing becomes increasingly mainstream, discussions around financial products are no longer confined to experts. Recognising this shift, Navi Mutual Fund‘s new campaign brings conversations around index funds into familiar social settings, helping demystify one of the simplest ways to participate in mutual funds.
The campaign comprises two digital films:
- The Akhada Film follows a traditional wrestler performing malkhamb. When his guru asks about his future aspirations, instead of talking about titles or championships, the wrestler responds enthusiastically using index fund terminology – creating a humorous contrast that reflects the growing awareness of investing among young Indians.
- The Date Film is set in a restaurant where a young couple meets for a first date. As the conversation turns to hobbies and interests, the young man unexpectedly answers almost entirely in the language of index funds, turning an ordinary interaction into an entertaining take on how investing has become part of everyday life.
By placing financial concepts in familiar, relatable moments, the campaign aims to reduce the perceived complexity around investing while encouraging first-time investors to learn more about passive investing.
Aditya Mulki, CEO of Navi AMC, said, “Index funds have emerged as one of the simplest and most transparent ways for investors to participate in the growth of the markets, yet investing is often perceived as complicated. Through this campaign, we wanted to make investing conversations feel natural and approachable by placing them in everyday situations people instantly recognise. Our objective is to spark curiosity, encourage learning and help more Indians take their first step towards long-term wealth creation.”
Vishal Dayama, Founder Braindad, said, “The brief lent itself to a more unconventional approach. Rather than explaining what index funds are, we built stories around characters who are hilariously passionate about them. Watching that passion spill into unexpected situations made the films entertaining, while subtly reinforcing that conversations around investing are becoming more mainstream.”
The campaign will be rolled out across digital and social media platforms through short-form videos and supporting content designed to engage younger audiences and make investing more approachable.
