Kochi, Aug 11: Muthoot Finance, India’s largest gold loan NBFC, has announced emergency relief assistance of ₹25 lakh to support around 5,000 families affected by heavy rains and flooding in Kottayam and Pathanamthitta districts of Kerala. As part of the Company’s CSR initiative, the assistance will provide essential groceries and hygiene supplies to families facing distress and support them as they begin the process of returning to normalcy.
In the first phase of the initiative, 500 emergency relief kits have been distributed across severely affected areas of Kottayam district, including Kumarakom, Illikkal, Chengalam, Puthuppally and Changanassery. A further 4,500 kits will be distributed across affected areas in Pathanamthitta, including Aranmula, Kozhencherry, Thiruvalla, Ranni and Konni.
The relief kits contain essential hygiene supplies and emergency groceries and are being distributed to families staying in relief camps and temporary shelters, as well as those returning home from the camps. The distribution is being carried out in collaboration with district administrations and local self-governing bodies.
