Mumbai, Apr 28: Mumbai Tech Week (MTW) 2026, the city’s flagship AI festival presented by the Tech Entrepreneurs Association of Mumbai (TEAM) and Government of Maharashtra (GoM), co-powered by Meta, returns for its third edition on 29–30 May 2026 at the Jio World Convention Centre. Since inception, MTW has rapidly evolved into one of India’s most influential founder-led technology events, bringing together startups, investors, developers, policymakers, and global technology leaders.
In its third edition, the event marks a decisive shift from experimentation to real-world deployment, highlighting how AI is enabling businesses to become more efficient and innovate faster. At the core of this year’s edition are curated AI showcases from leading global and Indian technology companies and unicorns, offering a front-row view into how AI is being deployed across sectors.
Commenting on the upcoming MTW 2026, Harsh Jain, Co-chair, Governing Council, TEAM said,
“The competitive advantage in AI has shifted. It’s no longer about understanding it, it’s about implementing it. The companies pulling ahead are the ones moving from pilots to production and weaving AI into how their business actually runs. That’s why platforms like Mumbai Tech Week are valuable — they show the ecosystem what’s working in the real world, not just in theory.”
AI is projected to contribute over $450–500 billion to India’s GDP. Mumbai’s startup ecosystem could grow to 100+ unicorns by 2035, with AI-driven businesses expected to contribute up to 15% of the city’s GDP growth and attract over $450 billion in foreign investment over the next decade. Further strengthening its position, Mumbai stands at the centre of India’s AI infrastructure buildout — leading the country’s data centre expansion driven by surging AI workloads and strong enterprise demand, with global and domestic players investing in large-scale capacity.
The 2026 edition will feature a range of curated formats designed to drive both insight and action across the ecosystem — including the AI Excellence Awards, Early Stage Startup Showcase, an AI-powered job fair in collaboration with Babblebots.ai, Stories Unplugged sessions, and practitioner-led masterclasses by Meta, Replit, and NPCI.

In the lead-up to MTW, a curated series of satellite events will take the festival beyond a single venue and into the fabric of the city. Hosted by TEAM member companies and ecosystem partners, these sessions will unfold across offices, and community spaces across Mumbai — from hands-on workshops and hackathons to curated meetups and founder-led interactions — deepening ecosystem participation and enabling meaningful knowledge exchange.
Naiyya Saggi, Governing Council Member, TEAM added,
“Every technology wave has had a defining city, and Mumbai has the ingredients to play that role for AI in India. Its unique advantage is proximity — where capital, enterprises, and consumers are closely interconnected, allowing ideas to move quickly from concept to adoption. Over time, that ability to translate intent into execution is what will position Mumbai as a city that shapes how AI is built and applied, not just where it is discussed.”
As India hits a defining moment in its AI journey, Mumbai Tech Week 2026 aims to turn momentum into real impact by bringing together founders, policymakers, and global tech leaders to drive AI adoption at scale. With a strong focus on deployment, collaboration, and capital, MTW reflects Mumbai’s rise as not just a participant, but a key driver in the global AI landscape.
