Hyderabad, June 4 : Motilal Oswal Mutual Fund has announced the launch of its New Fund Offer , the Motilal Oswal BSE Clean Environment Index Fund, an open-ended index scheme designed to replicate and track the BSE Clean Environment Index.
The NFO will open on June 5, 2026 and close on June 19, 2026.
Focus on India’s Clean Energy Transition
The fund aims to provide investors exposure to India’s emerging clean economy, tracking the BSE Clean Environment Index, which is structured around five key themes:
- Renewable energy
- Electric vehicles (EVs)
- Water treatment
- Recycling
- Waste management
The index includes approximately 25 companies across the clean economy value chain, with renewables forming the largest weight.
Investment Objective
The scheme seeks to generate returns that correspond, before expenses, to the total returns of the underlying index, subject to tracking error. It offers a passive, rules-based approach to investing in companies aligned with India’s sustainability and energy transition goals.

- Benchmark: BSE Clean Environment Total Return Index
- Minimum Investment: ₹500 (lump sum and ongoing)
- Exit Load: 1% if redeemed within 15 days; Nil thereafter
- Taxation:
- LTCG: 12.5% above ₹1.25 lakh (holding >12 months)
- STCG: 20% (holding ≤12 months)
