Chennai, Aug 24: MGM Healthcare hosted Senior Citizens Day with Sevvaanam- a Celebration of Life, Memories & Togetherness and Swayam awards recognising the senior citizens whose lives, remarkable journey and contributions continue to inspire the community.
The Senior citizens were awarded across six categories including Family Hero, Young at Heart Fit & Active, Community Hero, Always Learning, Forever Achiever- celebrating their strength, vitality, community spirit, lifelong curiosity and inspiring achievements. Each awardee was also presented with a complimentary health package worth ₹30,000, reinforcing MGM Healthcare’s commitment to preventive healthcare and healthy ageing.
The event was graced by Dr. Pradeep Chakravarthy, renowned historian, author and heritage expert, as the Chief Guest and joined by doctors, senior citizens and their families to celebrate their journey and achievements.
As part of the celebration, the hospital also organized interactive geriatric talk, health activities, a two-generation fun and healthy debate, Healthy ageing assessments were also conducted. The event also captured some light moments with a flute performance- Air
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Shivraj P, Head of Swayam and Senior Consultant, Internal Medicine and Allied Sciences said, “Our seniors are not simply the people we care for; they are the people who have cared for us, shaped us and shown us the way.
