Launched in the presence of over 100 AIM mentors and officials, the national initiative aims to document the collective contributions of Mentors of Change and dedicate a landmark publication to the nation on Diwali 2026.

Sept 15: Inspired by the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to nurture innovation and entrepreneurship, theAtal Innovation Mission (AIM), NITI Aayog, established over 10,000 Atal Tinkering Labs (ATLs) in various schools across the country in the last decade, fostering scientific temper in millions of students.
Thousands of Mentors of Change (MoCs) across the country have selflessly contributed significantly to the success of this national innovation movement. These mentors, without any expectation of personal gain, have shaped students’ dream and strengthened India’s ecosystem.
The “Mentor Legacy Project (MLP’26)” has been launched to preserve the inspiring journeys, experiences and achievements of these dedicated mentors. This initiative will document the collective contributions of AIM mentors across the country and create a landmark publication that will help future generations understand India’s unique mentoring movement.
It is noteworthy that the Mentor Legacy Project was officially launched during the recently held National Virtual-Round Table Meeting on June 18th.The initiative was announced in the presence of over 100 regional mentors and officials of the Atal Innovation Mission.
National Convener Dr. Vinod Tiwari explained this initiative as not a recognition of individual achievement,rather a recognition of the collective contribution of thousands of mentors who have played a vital role in moving the youth of the country towards self-reliance. He said, “AIM set the stage, Mentors ignited dreams, and MLP is an attempt to preserve that legacy.”
The project is being carried forward with the support of current and former AIM leadership, eminent personalities from academia, industry and various fields. It is being described as an important step towards preserving the inspiring journey, and legacy of the mentor community.
The MLP’2026 movement is being actively represented and supported by Legacy partners across thenation to make it a historical national initiative.The special publication will be dedicated to the nation during the festival of lights- Diwali 2026.
