New Delhi, July 22: Knauf India, a global leader in Drywall & Ceiling Solutions, has announced the launch of HeatBloc, a specialized gypsum plasterboard designed to improve indoor thermal comfort and energy efficiency. Engineered with a polyester-metallised aluminium foil backing, HeatBloc helps reduce heat ingress by reflecting thermal radiation before it enters interior spaces.

Knauf India Introduces HeatBloc, an Advanced Thermal Management Solution for Cooler, More Energy-Efficient Interiors

Designed to reflect up to 85% of solar radiation, HeatBloc helps limit heat transfer through walls and ceilings. By addressing heat gain at the source, the solution can help reduce cooling loads and support improved energy efficiency in residential and commercial buildings.

The HeatBloc range is available in 9.5 mm and 12.5 mm thicknesses, offering flexibility across applications. The 9.5 mm variant is designed for ceiling systems, while the 12.5 mm board is suitable for wall linings and drywall applications requiring greater stability. Manufactured in compliance with IS 2095 2023 – Type A standards, HeatBloc is designed to deliver reliable performance and consistent quality. The product also features a smooth surface finish for seamless interiors, along with a metallic backing for easy on-site identification during installation.

Mr Vijay Mishra, Commercial Director at Knauf, said,

“As rising temperatures continue to affect cities across India, there is a growing need to rethink how buildings are designed for thermal comfort. Material-led solutions that help reduce heat ingress can play an important role in improving indoor environments while also lowering the demand on cooling systems. HeatBloc is part of our broader portfolio aimed at supporting more energy-efficient and climate-responsive construction practices.”

As the construction sector continues to shift towards more sustainable and performance-driven approaches, integrated building solutions that address real-world challenges such as heat gain are expected to see wider adoption across residential and commercial projects.
