Revered as the “Queen of Fish”, Hilsa holds a special place in the region’s culinary traditions, cherished for its distinctive flavour and delicate texture. Crafted with finesse, the specially curated menu reimagines this celebrated catch through a harmonious and time-honoured dish, offering guests an immersive taste of Bengal‘s enduring culinary heritage.
Set within the warm and elegant ambience of Darjeeling Lounge, a charming tea lounge renowned for its artisanal single-estate teas brewed to perfection, premium coffees and thoughtfully curated light bites, the experience offers a relaxed setting for leisurely lunches and intimate dinners. The specially crafted menu showcases the versatility of Hilsa, celebrating its enduring place in Bengal‘s rich gastronomic traditions.
Available throughout August, the offering is served from 12:00 PM to 11:00 PM, inviting guests to savour the season’s most celebrated fish at their own pace. Relish a thoughtfully crafted Hilsa experience by choosing one signature preparation from the à la carte selection — Illish Macher Patla Jhol, Illish Korma, Laupata Aam Illish, Madhu Malai Illish, or Sugandhi Illish Bhapa. Each meal is complemented with steamed rice, Illish Bhaja Tel and crisp Aloo Bhaja, creating a wholesome tribute to Bengal‘s beloved monsoon favourite. The experience begins at INR 2,500 plus taxes.
Guests can also enjoy thoughtfully curated Hilsa Thali at Eden Pavilion, ITC Sonar while choosing from any one Hilsa Main Course from Doi Illish/ Illish Bhapa / Illish Maher Tel Jhal / Begun Illish paired with Illish Bhaja , Macher Tel, Aloo Bhate, Begun Bhaja, Biyulir Dal OR Sona moong er dal, Aloo Posto or Lau Diye Bori Ghonto,Illish Macher Matha Diye Chorchori, Steam Rice, Mishti Doi, Rasgulla and Sandesh at just INR 2500 + taxes per guest.
