This Independence Day, in good co, a progressive Indian café brand, celebrates a form of freedom that feels increasingly relevant to modern India today – the freedom to fall and rise. The campaign explores the idea that the freedom to take chances, make mistakes, learn and begin again is an important part of growth, creativity and progress.
in good co is built around the belief that being Indian today is not about choosing between the local and the global, but about how naturally the two coexist in everyday life. An Americano can sit alongside Southern Filter Kaapi, a croissant can share the table with badam halwa, and global café culture can exist alongside familiar Indian rituals. This progressive understanding of Indianness sits at the heart of the brand and informs everything from its food and coffee to its spaces, design and community-led experiences.
The philosophy behind in good co comes from an understanding of a young India that is ambitious, culturally curious and constantly moving between different influences, ideas and experiences. The brand was conceived as a homegrown café identity that could feel contemporary and globally relevant while remaining rooted in the culture around it. Rather than looking at India through convention or nostalgia, in good co reflects the way a new generation lives today – confidently, experimentally and on its own terms.
This Independence Day, that philosophy finds expression through “The Freedom to Fall and Rise”, an exploration of the freedom to try without being defined by the outcome. For a generation accustomed to building careers, businesses, ideas and identities in an increasingly uncertain world, failure is often an inevitable part of the process. The campaign looks at those moments not as endpoints, but as experiences that can offer perspective, encourage reinvention and create the confidence to try again.
At the heart of the campaign is the idea of being a “Work in Progress.” It recognises that progress rarely follows a straight path and that rejected ideas, unsuccessful attempts and unexpected turns can all become part of what ultimately moves a person forward. in good co seeks to celebrate a generation that is willing to experiment, stumble, learn and continue building – without needing to have everything figured out.
As part of the campaign, in good co has collaborated with Paperdom to create limited-edition Freedom to Fall and Rise Journals. The journals are designed to encourage people to put their failures on paper, reflect on what those experiences taught them and look at them through a new lens. The collaboration brings the campaign’s central thought into a tangible format, creating a personal space for people to acknowledge what did not work and consider what they can take forward from it.
The campaign is a natural extension of the way in good co approaches its menu and café experience. Its beverage programme brings specialty coffee made with premium single-origin AA-grade Arabica beans sourced from Chikkamagaluru alongside Indian favourites such as Southern Filter Kaapi and Asli Chai. Matcha, Hojicha, Raf Coffee and Tahini Coffee sit comfortably alongside seasonal Indian offerings such as Aam Panna and Shikanji, reflecting the increasingly fluid tastes of modern India.
The food follows the same philosophy, bringing familiar Indian flavours into contemporary café formats. Dishes such as the Badam Halwa Croissant, Pindi Chole Hummus & Kulche, Rajma Galouti & Mozzarella Brioche Sandwich and Tandoori Chicken Sourdough Sandwich sit alongside global café favourites, creating a menu that is rooted in India without being restricted by traditional definitions of Indian food.
Beyond food and beverage, in good co extends this philosophy into its design and community experiences. The café brings together contemporary design with references to Indian culture, including artwork by Delhi-based artist Pragyesh inspired by Delhi’s iconic tent house patterns and a curated library developed with Bahrisons Booksellers. Through The Goods, its merchandise programme, the brand also works with independent Indian makers and design-led collectives, including Ekatra and Paperdom, creating a platform for homegrown creativity and craftsmanship.
Ultimately, “The Freedom to Fall and Rise” reflects the larger idea that has shaped in good co from the beginning: that modern India is not defined by a single identity, influence or way of living. It is a generation that is experimenting, evolving and creating its own path, with the freedom to change direction along the way.
This Independence Day, in good co, celebrates that freedom, to take the chance, learn from the fall and rise again.
