New Delhi, Aug 31: Gujarat is intensifying its efforts to attract fresh investments as it prepares for the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit (VGGS) 2027, with Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel holding discussions with industry leaders and investors on expansion plans and new business opportunities.
The outreach is aimed at turning investor interest into concrete projects while strengthening Gujarat’s position as a major destination for domestic and international capital. The state is particularly focusing on emerging sectors such as semiconductors, artificial intelligence, data centres, renewable energy and advanced manufacturing, alongside its established industrial base.
Patel’s latest engagement follows a recent investment-focused visit to the United States and Canada, where the Gujarat delegation met technology companies, entrepreneurs and investors to showcase opportunities in the state. Discussions during the overseas outreach covered semiconductors, AI, digital infrastructure, manufacturing and financial services.
The state is seeking to build on its existing strengths in sectors such as chemicals, pharmaceuticals, petrochemicals, engineering and manufacturing while creating a stronger ecosystem for new-age industries.
At the VGGS 2027 curtain-raiser, industry discussions are covering a wide range of areas, including renewable energy, automobiles, semiconductors and electronics, infrastructure, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, railways, AI, data centres, IT services, chemicals and financial services.
Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya has also highlighted Gujarat’s potential in emerging sectors such as green hydrogen, hydrogen storage, semiconductors and data centres, urging investors to explore opportunities linked to these industries.
For businesses, Gujarat’s appeal lies in its combination of industrial infrastructure, connectivity, established manufacturing clusters and growing opportunities in technology-driven sectors. The state is now seeking to use these advantages to attract investment in industries expected to shape the next phase of economic growth.
The focus on new-age sectors also reflects the changing investment landscape, with companies increasingly looking for locations that can support advanced manufacturing, clean energy, digital infrastructure and resilient supply chains.
The upcoming VGGS 2027 is expected to provide a larger platform for investors, policymakers and industry leaders to explore partnerships and investment opportunities. The main summit is scheduled for January 10-12, 2027.
For Gujarat, the priority will be to convert discussions and expressions of interest into actual investments, new facilities and employment opportunities. Stronger participation from global and domestic companies could further expand the state’s industrial ecosystem and create opportunities for local businesses and MSMEs.
As preparations gather pace, Gujarat is presenting itself not only as an established manufacturing centre but also as a growing hub for technology, clean energy and future-focused industries.
The investment campaign ahead of VGGS 2027 therefore marks another push by the state to combine its traditional industrial strengths with emerging opportunities and strengthen its role in India’s next phase of economic expansion.
