India, June 11: Generac, a global designer, manufacturer, and provider of energy technology solutions, has inaugurated the Generac Business & Technology Centre (GBTC)- the company’s first dedicated Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Pune, India.

Designed by TOA- a design first, tech enabled architecture firm, the facility spans 21,494 sq. ft. and is built to accommodate 150+ employees, with a structured approach to growth and expansion. The centre is positioned as a multi-functional strategic hub and designated to evolve into a Centre of Excellence (CoE) for select engineering domains, enabling Generac to build deep domain capabilities that can be leveraged across its global enterprise.
India was selected as the location for GBTC following a rigorous evaluation of talent requirements to support the company’s evolving global needs. Pune, in particular, was identified for its concentration of manufacturing and engineering expertise and a talent ecosystem closely aligned with Generac’s core focus in power generation and energy solutions.
Mr. Shyam Sunder, VP-Global Business and Technology Center, Generac India, said,
“This marks an important milestone in our global growth journey to build a strong, scalable global capability engine. The India GCC will play a critical role in advancing Generac’s technology, digital, and business capabilities, while also serving as a hub for developing future-ready leadership and deep technical expertise.”
The GCC is inspired by the already defined brand colour palette of Generac and the GBTC itself stands as an expression of a Modern Contemporary design ethos, a space that amalgamates form, function, and the growing needs of a global, high-performing workforce. Work styles are also facilitated with interconnected desks, collaborative spaces, and dedicated zones for brainstorming.
Key design features include:
- Sensor-based energy management and digital access & security systems
- Open collaborative zones, quiet focus rooms, and adaptive work environments
- Sustainable design elements including acoustic PET panels, energy-efficient lighting, and durable long-life materials such as laminates, marble flooring, wood panels, and nylon carpet
- Attention to premium finishes underpinned by a brand-centric design approach
Mr. Aditya Yamsanwar, Director, TOA, said:
“The modern GCC is becoming a critical driver of innovation, talent, and business continuity for global enterprises. While designing Generac’s workspace, our intent was to build an environment that encourages seamless collaboration, adaptability, and employee well-being while supporting the dynamic needs of a growing global team. The project reflects a balance of functionality, workplace experience, and future scalability aligned with the evolving nature of global capability centres.”
With the launch of GBTC, Generac signals a long-term commitment to India bringing together technology, innovation and expertise to create long-term impact – not just as a support destination, but as a strategic pillar of its global growth and innovation agenda; and affirms its conviction that world-class capability is built not just through talent, but through the environments designed to unlock it.
