TAMPA, Fla., May 8 — GEICO today celebrated the official opening of its new Tampa campus with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Corporate Oaks Business Park.

The company’s new 190,000‑square‑foot, three-building campus supports its growth, with plans to add a total of 1,500 new jobs in Tampa. To date, GEICO has filled more than 500 of these roles and plans to hire an additional 500 employees through 2026, with further hiring expected in 2027. The insurer now has approximately 4,400 employees in Florida, including locations in Tampa, Lakeland and Jacksonville, as well as additional offices statewide.

The ribbon-cutting marked the latest milestone in GEICO’s expansion and was hosted by campus leaders Amy Wolfe, Head of Insurance Services, and Denise O’Malley, Head of Sales Operations. The event included remarks from State Rep. Susan Valdés, District 64, and Craig Richard, President and CEO of the Tampa Bay Economic Development Council.

GEICO announced plans to expand in the Sunshine State in March 2025, with career opportunities spanning insurance sales, service, and claims roles, as well as leadership development positions. The company has also partnered with the University of Tampa and the University of South Florida to recruit talent and introduce students to career opportunities at GEICO.

“GEICO has had a presence in Florida for over 30 years, including offices in Lakeland and Jacksonville,” said O’Malley. “As the Sunshine State’s second-largest auto insurer, GEICO is thrilled to expand our footprint with the opening of our new office right here in Tampa.”

“From the very first day that we opened our doors here in Tampa, we have been met with tremendous support and enthusiasm from this community,” said Wolfe. “The region’s robust talent pool and dynamic business environment make it the ideal location, allowing us to better serve our growing customer base with various insurance products while creating significant employment opportunities.”

Continuing its commitment to supporting the communities where it operates, GEICO has developed partnerships with the Tampa Bay Chamber of Commerce and the Tampa Bay Economic Development Council. The company is also a proud sponsor of the Tampa Bay Lightning, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, ZooTampa, The Florida Aquarium and Busch Gardens Tampa Bay.

“Tampa continues to attract companies that are investing for the long term, and GEICO’s decision to open this new Tampa campus reflects that confidence,” said Tampa Mayor Jane Castor. “As one of the state’s largest employers in the insurance industry, GEICO’s expansion supports job growth, strengthens our business community and reinforces Tampa’s appeal as a place to live and work.”

“Tampa has emerged as Florida’s center of gravity for high-value economic activity where companies don’t just grow – they scale beautifully,” said Richard. “And I have no doubt that GEICO will scale successfully here, too.”

GEICO’s continued investment in Tampa reinforces its commitment to delivering a seamless, first-class experience for millions of customers, from initial quote through claims settlement.

The Tampa expansion follows other recent GEICO investments in key markets, including North Texas, and reflects the company’s continued focus on growth, talent and customer experience nationwide.
