Kolkata, Aug10: This August 15, Garden Cafe is giving its South Indian favourites an Independence Day twist. The special menu brings together a selection of benne dosas, along with tricolour idlis and dosas.
The benne dosa offerings include Benne Plain Dosa, Benne Masala Dosa, Benne Podi Plain Dosa, Benne Podi Masala Dosa and Benne Garlic Roast Dosa. Made fresh on the tawa and finished with benne, each one brings a different take on the classic dosa.
There’s the crisp simplicity of the Benne Plain Dosa, the familiar potato filling in the Benne Masala Dosa, and the added flavour of podi in the Benne Podi Plain and Benne Podi Masala Dosas. The Benne Garlic Roast Dosa brings garlic into the mix with a deeper, more roasted flavour. Five dosas. Five different ways to celebrate.
The menu also includes Tricolour Idlis and Tricolour Dosas — a festive take on two much-loved South Indian staples. The Tricolour Idlis and Dosas come in saffron, white and green, making the usual favourites a little different for the day.
It’s a spread that keeps the celebration easy: dosas coming straight off the tawa, the aroma of benne and podi in the air, and a few tricolour favourites made specially for the day.
The Independence Day Special at Garden Cafe will be available on August 15.
