
Asansol, September 15, 2026: Eastern Coalfields Limited (ECL) today opened its second AMRIT Pharmacy at Central Hospital, Kalla, further expanding access to affordable medicines and healthcare support for employees, dependants and the surrounding community.
The facility was inaugurated by Shri Satish Jha, Chairman-cum-managing Director, ECL.
AMRIT (Affordable Medicines and Reliable Implants for Treatment), operated by HLL Lifecare Ltd., a Government of India public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, provides essential and life-saving medicines, surgical items and medical implants at substantially discounted prices.
Addressing the gathering, Shri Satish Jha delivered a motivational address to employees, sharing an overview of the company’s performance and urging them to put in collective efforts to “achieve the target and beat the target” in coal production while continuing to strengthen employee welfare.
Director (HR), ECL, Shri Gunjan Kumar Sinha briefed the gathering on the benefits of AMRIT Pharmacy and its role in improving access to affordable and quality medicines. The facility will provide cashless medicines to ECL employees.
The Chief of Medical Services, ECL, and the Chief Medical Officer, Central Hospital, Kalla, were also present, along with senior officers of ECL and HLL Lifecare Ltd., and the paramedical and administrative staff of the hospital.
