Hyderabad, May 14: The 22nd edition of Green Cementech, the Confederation of Indian Industry’s (CII) flagship annual Conference & Expo for the Cement Industry, commenced today at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre . 

CII Green Cementech 2026 Advances Sustainable Cement Manufacturing

Organized by CII – Green Business Centre (CII‑GBC), in partnership with the Cement Manufacturers’ Association (CMA), India, the conference has witnessed participation from over 400+ industry representatives, including policymakers, senior industry leaders, technology providers, academic & research organizations, and sustainability experts from India and across the globe.

CII Green Cementech, over the years, has served as a strategic platform to deliberate on decarbonization pathways, digital transformation, and future‑ready technologies critical for the cement industry’s sustainable growth. 

Addressing the delegates during the inaugural, Mr. ER Raj Narayanan, Co-Chairman, Green Cementech 2026, Business Head & Chief Manufacturing Officer, UltraTech Cement Limited, highlighted the pivotal role of the cement industry in India’s development, stating:

“The cement industry is not only contributing to India’s economic growth, but also laying the foundation for Viksit Bharat through resilient and sustainable infrastructure. The theme of Green Cementech 2026, ‘Road towards Net Zero Carbon,’ perfectly captures the direction in which the Indian cement sector is moving today.”

Mr. C. Shekar Reddy, National Chairman, CII Indian Green Building Council, highlighted the importance of sustainable materials in green infrastructure, stating:

 “The cement industry plays a crucial role in enabling green buildings and infrastructure, and the adoption of low‑carbon materials will be key to achieving our national climate goals. Through IGBC’s 32 regional chapters across India, we are continuously creating awareness among architects, builders, engineers, urban planners, consultants, and students on the importance of sustainable practices and low-carbon construction methodologies.”

Mr. Masood Mallick, Chairman, CII National Committee on Waste to Worth Technologies & Managing Director, Chief Executive Officer, Re Sustainability Limited, emphasized circularity approaches for cement industry, stating:

“The industry must increasingly adopt AI-driven solutions and focus on material intelligence, waste utilization, and performance-based standards that encourage innovation while delivering measurable impact.”

Ms. Aparna Dutt Sharma, Secretary General, Cement Manufacturers’ Association (CMA), India, emphasized the industry’s collective responsibility in driving decarbonisation and sustainable growth, stating: “Industry partnerships will play a defining role in shaping the future of decarbonization. Organizations like CMA, along with its members and partners such as CII, are already creating meaningful impact across the cement sector by bringing together policy, innovation, and industry action under one platform.”

Key Highlights of Green Cementech 2026:

  • Panel discussions with senior industry leaders on net zero strategies for cement industry

  • Sessions on latest and innovative technologies for sustainable cement manufacturing

The Green Cementech 2026 also featured a concurrent expo with 50+ exhibitors showcasing cutting‑edge solutions in energy efficiency, emissions reduction, and smart manufacturing. Green Cementech 2026 will continue on 15 May 2026 with further technical sessions, leadership dialogues, and interactions at the exhibition, reinforcing CII‑GBC’s commitment to enabling a low‑carbon, resilient, and digitally enabled cement industry.
