Bonn Group becomes the first bread brand in India to launch on ChatGPT Ads

Ludhiana, Punjab, Oct 01: Bonn Group of Industries has begun advertising on ChatGPT Ads in India, becoming the first brand in the bread category to do so.

The campaign focuses on product focus, e.g. Bonn’s whole-wheat and brown bread range and the new flavoured breads. It targets consumers already asking ChatGPT everyday food questions: a healthy breakfast, a quick school tiffin or an easy evening snack. Ads appear alongside relevant answers, clearly labelled, to users on ChatGPT’s Free and Go tiers. OpenAI opened ads in India in late August 2026 to a market of more than 100 million weekly ChatGPT users.

The ChatGPT launch is the first step in a wider plan to explore every possible association that brings Bonn closer to its consumers. Over the coming months, the company will look at:

·       AI and conversational platforms: recipe ideas, meal planning and nutrition prompts built around Bonn products

·       Content and creator partnerships: home cooks, food creators and regional influencers across North India and beyond

·       Health and fitness associations: fitness communities, sports events and wellness platforms, for its brown and whole-wheat range

·       Youth and campus engagement: college festivals, gaming and pop-culture tie-ups for younger consumers

·       Retail and quick-commerce: closer work with modern trade and quick-commerce apps, so discovery on AI turns into a purchase in minutes

With 11 manufacturing plants, a fleet of more than 500 trucks and exports to 55+ countries, Bonn aims to pair its reach with a modern, digital-first voice that speaks to every generation of Indian consumers.

Speaking on the launch, Mr. Amrinder Singh, Director, Bonn Group, said: “Our first campaign on ChatGPT Ads is a proud milestone for Bonn and for the bread category in India. Since 1985, we have earned our place at the Indian family table one loaf at a time, by staying true to quality and listening closely to what families need. That table has changed. Today, a mother planning her child’s tiffin or a young professional looking for a healthier breakfast is just as likely to ask an AI assistant as to ask a friend.

Bread is an everyday choice, and ChatGPT lets us be part of that choice at the exact moment of exploration, when people are deciding what to eat. Our whole wheat, atta, protein and brown breads are made for this more mindful consumer, and this platform lets us introduce them in a way that is relevant, helpful and never intrusive. It is also a valuable opportunity to learn how Indians discover food brands in a conversational environment.

For us, this is only the beginning. We are actively exploring every association that brings Bonn closer to its consumers, from food creators and fitness communities to campuses, sports and quick-commerce. Our promise remains the same as it was four decades ago: wholesome, trusted products for every Indian home. What is changing is how, and where, we keep that promise.”
