Chandigarh, Aug 24: Haryana is emerging as an increasingly attractive destination for investors, with industrial proposals worth more than Rs 66,000 crore signalling strong interest in the state’s manufacturing, technology and emerging business sectors.

The latest investment push comes as the Haryana government steps up its outreach to industry and investors through the Happening Haryana 2.0 initiative. The campaign is aimed at presenting the state as a competitive destination for businesses while creating new opportunities for employment and economic growth.

The state has been working to strengthen its industrial ecosystem through a new policy framework that places greater emphasis on advanced manufacturing, technology, digital infrastructure and emerging industries. Haryana’s 2026 industrial policy targets Rs 5 lakh crore in investment over five years, with employment generation among its key objectives.

The government’s investor outreach is also focusing on sectors such as artificial intelligence, fintech, electric mobility, clean energy, agri-tech, logistics, information technology and global services. The objective is to encourage both large companies and smaller businesses to expand their presence in the state.

The investment interest comes alongside efforts to make it easier for businesses to set up and operate in Haryana. The state has been introducing digital systems and policy reforms aimed at simplifying approvals and improving investor support.

Recent developments underline the scale of the interest. Godrej Industries Group, for instance, signed an agreement with the Haryana government for a proposed investment of around Rs 20,000 crore, with the project expected to create about 40,000 jobs.

Haryana is also strengthening industrial infrastructure to support future investment. A proposed mega industrial park in Ambala is being developed under the Centre’s BHAVYA programme and is designed to provide modern facilities for manufacturing, warehousing, logistics and related activities.

For ordinary people, the investment drive could translate into more jobs, new business opportunities and stronger local economic activity. Greater industrial development can also create demand for supporting services, transport, logistics, housing and skill development.

With its established industrial base, connectivity to the National Capital Region and growing focus on technology and modern manufacturing, Haryana is seeking to build on its existing strengths and attract the next generation of businesses.

The latest proposals worth more than Rs 66,000 crore represent another important step in that journey and underline the state government’s effort to turn investment interest into long-term industrial growth and employment opportunities.
