Kolkata, June 25: Arindam Bhattacharya, the acclaimed director-producer and rank-holding Chartered Accountant, has officially announced the upcoming launch of Matrix One, a premium Bengali OTT platform scheduled to debut in the second half of 2026.
Bhattacharya‘s production house, Dreamliner Entertainment, the banner behind his five successful feature films—Antarleen, Flat No. 609, Antardhaan, Shibpur, and Durgapur Junction—will serve as the creative backbone for the platform‘s original content. Matrix One aims to redefine the digital landscape with a diverse portfolio including high-end web series, feature films, shorts, and documentaries, alongside several innovative content formats yet to be revealed.
The platform‘s core philosophy prioritizes quality over quantity. By strategically limiting its initial output, Matrix One intends to ensure that every production meets a global standard of excellence, offering audiences Bhattacharya‘s signature cinematic style.

Matrix One will launch with Arindam Bhattacharya’s first web series — Shibpur –the prequel‖ which will be the prequel to the the same director’s 2023 critically acclaimed film Shibpur and his latest feature film Durgapur Junction featuring Vikram Chatterjee and Swastika Mukherjee. This is along side another webseries —Dugga by Sayan Banerjee and a webfilm by Atanu Ghosh.
Apart from its contemporary entertainment offerings, Matrix One will also focus on a dedicated Classics segment. The platform will acquire rights to carefully restored classic films from the past, preserving and showcasing cinematic heritage for future generations.
Through this initiative, Matrix One aims to build a valuable digital archive that documents the rich history of Bengali and Indian cinema, allowing audiences to rediscover timeless masterpieces in enhanced quality.
Arindam Bhattacharya brings a unique fusion of creative vision and corporate rigor to this venture. Before transitioning to filmmaking in 2016, he spent two decades in senior global leadership roles at major conglomerates, including RPG Spencer‘s, GE, and HP Agilent. His films have since earned numerous Filmfare and WBFJA awards. Notably, his 2023 film Shibpur was hailed as a path-breaking entry in the Bengali underworld genre, setting a new benchmark for regional storytelling.
