Mumbai, May 07: The Advertising Agencies Association of India (AAAI) is set to celebrate its 80th anniversary this 19th of May 2026. Commemorating this milestone, AAAI is set to bring together key leaders from across the industry, reaffirming its commitment to driving excellence, fostering innovation, and strengthening India’s position as a global advertising powerhouse. The Governor of Tamil Nadu & Kerala, Shri Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, will address the industry, setting the tone for the celebration as Chief Guest. Furthermore, he will felicitate organisations that have been AAAI members for over 50 years.

Founded in 1945, AAAI is India’s apex industry-led advertising body that has nurtured a robust, ethical, and globally competitive advertising ecosystem in the country. AAAI has championed industry standards, fostered creativity, and paved the way for collaboration across the country.It takes forward industry interests with government & regulators, conducts the contests to build talent.It has played a vital role in bringing together media, advertisers and agencies which were once fragmented, into one aligned ecosystem. Further, AAAI has been instrumental in bringing the power of advertising to society itself.

Srinivasan K Swamy, Executive Group Chairman of R. K. Swamy Ltd and President of Advertising Agencies Association of India said,

“Eighty years is a significant milestone for any industry body, and for us at AAAI, this milestone represents decades of contribution towards building standards for a constantly evolving sector while advocating for the interests of agencies across India”. He added, “We missed celebrating our Platinum Jubilee 5 years ago due to the pandemic and we didn’t want to miss celebrating this Oak Jubilee!”

Jaideep Gandhi, Vice President, Advertising Agencies Association of India added,

The 80-year milestone will bring together the who’s who from across the industry, spanning legacy mediums like print, radio, and television to new-age media that include digital platforms that have been unlocking immersive brand experiences.

The Association continues to remain committed to empowering agencies in navigating a rapidly transforming media and marketing landscape.
