A National Honour Celebrated: “Mog Asum” Receives the Rajat Kamal at the 72nd National Film Awards

landmark moment for Konkani cinema and the team behind Mog Asum, as the film was formally honoured with the Rajat Kamal for Best Konkani Film at the 72nd National Film Awards ceremony, held in the presence of the Hon’ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, at Ekta Nagar, Kevadia, Gujarat, on September 22, 2026.

While the award for Best Konkani Film was announced earlier this year, its formal presentation at the National Film Awards ceremony marked a significant milestone for the team. The honour was conferred on the producers and directors of Mog Asum, with Sharad Mittal representing the producers and Agnelo Angelo Braganza and Radheshyam Pipalwa representing the directors at the ceremony.

For Mog Asum, the occasion is particularly meaningful as the Best Konkani Film honour recognises both its producers and directors, acknowledging the collaborative effort behind the film. The official National Film Awards list names Flowing Mandovi Films LLP, R S Creations and Kathputlee Arts and Films Pvt. Ltd. as producers, with Radheshyam Pipalwa and Agnelo Angelo Braganza as directors.

The National Film Awards ceremony also brought together some of India’s leading creative and technical talent, celebrating achievements across acting, production design, direction and filmmaking in India’s diverse languages and cinematic traditions.
