Kolkata, 19 September 2026: IndiGo, India‘s preferred airline and one of the world’s fastest-growing carriers, has once again been named the ‘Best Low-Cost Airline in India & South Asia‘ at the coveted 2026 World Airline Awards by Skytrax. With this, IndiGo has been recognised 16 times as the best low–cost airline, across different regional definitions including India, Central Asia and South Asia, in its 20-year journey so far. This underscores IndiGo’s consistent commitment to delivering accessible, affordable, on-time and hassle-free travel experiences. Additionally, IndiGo won several other accolades including ‘Best Cabin Crew in India & South Asia’ and ‘Cleanest Airline in India & South Asia’.
Since its inception in 2006, IndiGo has remained steadfast in its commitment to operational excellence and cost leadership, growing significantly in scale, reach, and capabilities while providing seamless connectivity across the largest and most extensive network in India and beyond. Having flown nearly 900 million customers since inception, IndiGo has played a key role in democratizing air travel in India. Today, the airline flies over one million customers every three days.

The World Airline Awards by Skytrax are based on the world’s largest annual airline passenger satisfaction survey, operated from September 2025 to August 2026, attracting 24.8 million eligible entries from customers across more than 100 nationalities. The survey featured over 300 airlines from around the world.
