Lucknow, Feb 18: HCLFoundation, which drives the corporate social responsibility agenda of HCLTech in India, has provided advanced intensive care equipment to the Saloni Heart Center at Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS), Lucknow.

The initiative strengthens critical care infrastructure at Uttar Pradesh’s first dedicated pediatric heart facility for children born with Congenital Heart Disease (CHD), addressing long-standing gaps in access to specialized pediatric cardiac treatment and post-operative care in the region.

Advanced Equipment Provided

The state-of-the-art ICU equipment supported by HCLFoundation includes:

  • Panda ResusView Warmer with Resuscitation Trolley – Ensures safe thermal regulation with integrated resuscitation support during critical cardiac episodes.

Speaking on the occasion, Nidhi Pundhir, Director, HCLFoundation, said:

“Equitable healthcare is achieved when the availability of specialized care is proportionate to unmet need. By enabling advanced ICU capabilities at the Saloni Heart Center, we hope to strengthen a critical link in the pediatric cardiac care pathway—supporting early intervention, safer surgeries, intensive post-operative care and better survival outcomes for children with congenital heart disease. At HCLFoundation, our focus is on building long-term, sustainable capacity within public healthcare systems.”

Located within SGPGIMS, the Center addresses a major healthcare gap in Uttar Pradesh, which records an estimated 75,000 CHD births annually.

Once fully operational, the 200-bed world-class pediatric cardiac teaching and treatment hospital will be capable of performing up to 5,000 surgeries annually.
