Bhubaneswar, Sept. 21 (UDN): Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) co-convenor Saurav Das on Monday visited two schools in Bhubaneswar as part of the party’s ‘School Thik Karo Abhiyan’, reviewing basic facilities and interacting with students.

The campaign, according to the CJP, is aimed at assessing the condition of government schools and drawing attention to gaps in infrastructure and essential facilities.
One School Visit Restricted
Das said his team attempted to visit two schools but was not permitted to enter one of the institutions.
According to him, the team was asked to obtain permission from the concerned authorities before conducting an inspection.
He said the restriction did not prevent the team from visiting Harihar Vidyapith, where students from primary and higher secondary sections study.
Toilets Found in Poor Condition
During his interaction with students at Harihar Vidyapith, Das said concerns were raised over the condition of school toilets.
He also claimed that he personally found the toilets to be in poor condition and stressed the need for better hygiene and regular maintenance in educational institutions.
Das said the campaign was intended to document such issues and bring them to the attention of the authorities concerned.
Das Says Students Need Better Facilities
Speaking about the initiative, the CJP co-convenor said students require a safe and supportive environment to pursue their education.
He said the campaign would continue examining school infrastructure and facilities and seek greater accountability over basic amenities available to students.
The CJP has previously described the ‘School Thik Karo’ initiative as a campaign focused on identifying deficiencies in government schools and pressing for improvements.
To Meet Student Protesters
Das also said he would meet members of the Nabnirman Yuva Chhatra Sangathan (NYCS) who are protesting over alleged irregularities related to school textbooks.
According to him, he plans to meet protesters, including those participating in a hunger strike, to discuss their concerns.
BJD leader Manmath Kumar Routray, NYCS state convenor Md Manwar Alli and others accompanied Das during the school visits.
