Mancherial, Telangana, July 24: Bajaj Finance Ltd., India’s largest private sector Non-Banking Financial Company (NBFC) and part of Bajaj Finserv, organized its financial literacy programme, ‘Arthsutra Samvad’, at Peddanapalli and Devapur villages in Kasipet Mandal of Mancherial district, Telangana.
The initiative is part of Bajaj Finance‘s nationwide financial literacy programme aimed at promoting financial inclusion in rural and underbanked areas. Conducted under the Reserve Bank of India’s financial literacy initiative, the programme focused on creating awareness about financial discipline, responsible money management, digital financial safety and protection against financial fraud.
During the sessions, Bajaj Finance representatives educated villagers, especially women and youth, on the importance of savings, budgeting, responsible borrowing, timely loan repayment and safe digital financial practices. Participants were also advised to remain alert against cyber frauds, fake investment schemes, suspicious links, APK files, WhatsApp scams and digital arrest frauds. They were encouraged to immediately report cyber frauds by calling the national cybercrime helpline 1930.
The programme at Peddanapalli was attended by Shri Kalvala Sharath Kumar, Sarpanch of Peddanapalli, as the Chief Guest and Shri Anjaneyulu, Sub-Inspector of Police, Kasipet Mandal, as the Guest of Honour. Ward Members Vinay, Shravan and P. Vamshi, along with a large number of villagers, participated in the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Kalvala Sharath Kumar, Sarpanch of Peddanapalli, appreciated Bajaj Finance for organizing the awareness programme and said such initiatives help strengthen financial awareness among rural communities and empower people to make informed financial decisions.
Addressing the gathering, Shri Anjaneyulu, Sub-Inspector of Police, Kasipet Mandal, urged citizens to remain vigilant against financial and cyber frauds. He advised people to deal only with trusted financial institutions, avoid sharing personal banking information with strangers, and report any cyber fraud immediately by dialling 1930.
A similar financial literacy programme was also conducted at Devapur village, R Ramdas, Sarpanch, Devapur panchayat, Ade Jangu, Sarpanch, Maddi Mada panchayat, Kommula Babu, Tribal State Committee Chairperson and local public representatives, women, youth and villagers participated actively. The session covered key aspects of financial planning, responsible borrowing, savings, cyber safety and fraud prevention.
‘Arthsutra Samvad’ is Bajaj Finance‘s flagship financial literacy initiative that aims to empower individuals with practical financial knowledge and encourage informed financial decision-making through community-based awareness programmes across rural India.
