Bengaluru , June 29: In an era dominated by instant messaging and digital communication, Bhartiya Mall of Bengaluru is bringing back the timeless charm of handwritten letters with Stamps & Stories, a 12-day celebration that commemorates National Postal Workers Day and honours the enduring legacy of India’s postal network.

Running from 1st to 12th July 2026, the festival, which is in association with the postal department, is designed as an immersive community experience that blends heritage, creativity and meaningful engagement. Through letter-writing workshops, a vintage stamp gallery, a DIY stamp design contest and an interactive Wall of Gratitude, visitors will have the opportunity to rediscover the art of personal correspondence while celebrating the postal workers who have connected generations across the country.
The celebrations will commence on 1st July with a special felicitation ceremony recognising the invaluable contribution of postal workers. In partnership with the Postal Department, the event will also feature philately camps, along with information and assistance camps for postal, investment and insurance services, offering visitors a closer look at the many ways India’s postal network continues to serve communities today.
A key highlight of the festival is the Art of Letter Writing Workshop, where participants of all ages can learn the craft of writing thoughtful letters and postcards. The sessions aim to inspire creativity, storytelling and self-expression while introducing younger audiences to a tradition that has shaped generations.
Visitors can also contribute to a Wall of Gratitude, an interactive installation where they can share messages of appreciation for postal workers, family members, teachers, mentors and loved ones. The collective display will serve as a powerful reminder of the importance of human connection in an increasingly digital world.
Adding a creative dimension to the celebrations, the DIY Stamp Contest will invite participants to design commemorative stamps inspired by Bengaluru, culture, community and personal memories. Selected entries will be showcased during the festival, highlighting the creativity and stories of residents.
For collectors, history enthusiasts, and curious visitors, the Vintage Stamp Gallery will present a fascinating collection of stamps that traces the evolution of communication and India’s rich postal heritage. The exhibition offers a unique glimpse into how stamps have documented historical events, cultural milestones, and societal change over the decades.
By bringing together nostalgia, creativity and community participation, Stamps & Stories seeks to celebrate not only the enduring appeal of handwritten communication but also the invaluable role of postal workers in connecting people, preserving memories, and strengthening relationships across distances.
