Kolkata,  May 21: Kolkata Women’s Business Alliance  hosted a heart-warming Mother’s Day celebration with the maiden edition of “Glamour & Spices” in Kolkata, bringing together women entrepreneurs, homemakers, professionals and creators under one roof to celebrate motherhood, talent and togetherness.Kolkata Women’s Business Alliance hosts maiden ‘Glamour & Spices’ event

The event marked a significant new chapter for the organisation, which was founded with the vision of women’s empowerment, entrepreneurship and unity. The occasion was graced by distinguished dignitaries including Soma Chakraborty, Co-Founder & Managing Director of Goodace Hospital, President of Gouri’s Foundation and Founder Member of KWBA; Piyali Goswami, Founder Member and Cultural Secretary of KWBA; Swati Das Chakraborty, Owner of Misthi Bahar and Founder Member of KWBA. The esteemed juries for the respective segments included Cooking Judge Bipasha Mukherjee, Celebrity Culinary Expert; and Fashion Show Judges Shantanu Guha Thakurta, Renowned Fashion Designer; Abhishek De Sarkar, Eminent Career Coach; Abhishek Ray, Renowned Fashion Designer & Professor, Co-partner, TiaPaakhi; and Anilabha Chattopadhyay, Editor, Hangla Hneshel.

One of the key highlights of the evening was the specially curated “Mayer Haater Ranna” segment, a unique culinary showcase celebrating the love, warmth and emotions associated with food prepared by mothers. The competition witnessed participation not only from women across different walks of life, but also from passionate male cooks, making it a truly inclusive celebration of culinary talent and family traditions.The celebration also featured a vibrant multi-generational fashion showcase conducted by Kolkata Women’s Business Alliance with a special fusion Indo-western collection. With participants ranging from 2 to 60 years old, the segment beautifully reflected confidence, inclusivity and the belief that “Je Raandhe, Shey Chul-o-Baandhe” celebrating women who effortlessly balance talent, grace, ambition and responsibility. Fashion presentations by Sristi Boutique, MR Creation, Appie Blossom and KolkataNama added glamour and elegance to the evening and were highly appreciated by the guests and audience alike.

The event was led by the Founder Members of KWBA  Soma Chakraborty and Piyali Goswami who reiterated the importance of networking, collaboration and creating meaningful platforms for women to grow and support one another.

Speaking on the occasion, Soma Chakraborty said

“KWBA aims to become a strong community-driven platform where women can connect, empower themselves, showcase their talents and transform their dreams into success and prosperity. This was only the maiden edition of the celebration, with many more and bigger editions planned in the future.”
