Bengaluru, April 23: On the occasion of World Book Day, Zepto Limited (Zepto), in partnership with Make A Difference (MAD), has introduced ‘Gift A Book’. The initiative lets users donate pre-loved children’s books directly from their doorstep across Bengaluru.
On April 23, users placing orders on Zepto in Bengaluru can hand over pre-loved children’s books to delivery partners. Zepto sellers will collect and route these books to Make A Difference, which will distribute them across shelter homes and low-income schools where access to non-academic reading remains limited—helping nurture imagination, curiosity, and a love for reading among children.
Speaking about the initiative, Vikas Sharma, COO, Zepto said,
“At Zepto, we see everyday orders as opportunities to create small, meaningful moments. Through our partnership with Make A Difference for ‘Gift A Book’, we’re making it easy for users to pass on stories they’ve loved. We thank our sellers for enabling this. It’s a simple way to bring joy and spark curiosity among children who need it most.”
Ananya S, Community Organiser, Make A Difference (MAD) added,
“Access to books beyond academic material plays a crucial role in a child’s development. Through this partnership with Zepto, we are able to reach more children with stories that inspire, comfort, and empower. Every donated book has the potential to open up new worlds and perspectives.”
‘Gift A Book’ brings together users, delivery partners, and the NGO ecosystem in a collective effort to make reading more accessible. By transforming everyday deliveries into impactful opportunities, Zepto and its sellers continue to explore innovative ways to drive community engagement and social good.
Because sometimes, the simplest gestures—like passing on a book—can open up entirely new worlds for a child.
