Greater Noida, April 9: Galgotias University successfully hosted the 9th edition of the SIEP E-Bike Challenge from April 3–7, 2026, bringing together engineering students and innovators from across India to showcase cutting-edge solutions in sustainable mobility.

Galgotias University Hosts National E-Bike Challenge to Drive Innovation in Green Mobility

 Organized by Imperial Society of Innovative Engineers (ISIE INDIA) under its Skill, Innovation & Employability Program (SIEP), the national-level competition witnessed participation from over 350 students and 23 teams representing multiple states, including Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Kerala, Karnataka, and others.

The challenge focused on designing, developing, and testing functional electric bike (E-Bike) prototypes, with participants evaluated on parameters such as energy efficiency, innovation, performance, and real-world applicability. The event provided a hands-on platform for students to demonstrate technical expertise while addressing critical issues of energy sustainability and mobility.

Vinod Gupta, Founder and President of ISIE INDIA, highlighted the importance of industry-aligned innovation, emphasizing the role of young engineers in tackling global energy challenges.

Sharing his perspective, Dhruv Galgotia, CEO of Galgotias University, said,

“With global energy uncertainties impacting fuel stability, the need for sustainable and self-reliant mobility solutions is more urgent than ever. Initiatives like the SIEP E-Bike Challenge empower young innovators to create practical alternatives that contribute to a resilient and sustainable future.”

The inaugural session was attended by distinguished dignitaries, including Sushil Kumar Agarwal, Regional Director at the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Government of India; Rajiv E; Ajay Shrivastav; and Nitin Khindria. Their presence underscored the importance of aligning academic initiatives with industry requirements and national priorities in clean mobility.

Participants from leading institutions such as DIT University, Dr. D. Y. Patil Institute of Technology, Thiagarajar College of Engineering, JSS Academy of Technical Education, RV College of Engineering, and KL University, among others, showcased innovative prototypes designed for real-world conditions.

Through rigorous on-campus testing and evaluation, the event highlighted the growing importance of clean energy innovation, sustainable transportation, and student-led engineering solutions.

By hosting the SIEP E-Bike Challenge, Galgotias University continues to reinforce its commitment to experiential learning, industry collaboration, and innovation-driven education, contributing to India’s transition toward a cleaner, more efficient mobility ecosystem.
