Mira Road, Jan 23: Wockhardt Hospitals, Mira Road, organised a comprehensive health check up camp for traffic police personnel as part of Road Safety Month, observed from 1st to 31st January 2026. The initiative was conducted under the hospital’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, reaffirming its commitment to community health and preventive care.
The camp benefited more than 250 traffic police personnel from the Mira Road–Bhayander division, including staff from Kashimira Police Station and Golden Nest Police Station. Traffic police officers play a vital role in managing road safety under demanding conditions, often working long hours while being exposed to pollution, stress, and varying weather conditions.
Police personnel, like all human beings, face significant physical and mental stress, which often leads to lifestyle-related health issues such as hypertension. Continuous duty hours, irregular meals, and high-pressure working environments increase the risk of elevated blood pressure and related complications, making regular health check-ups essential for early detection and timely medical intervention.
Keeping these challenges in mind, Wockhardt Hospitals, Mira Road conducted a series of preventive health screenings during the camp. The medical evaluations included tests for diabetes, blood pressure, ECG, and other basic health assessments. A dedicated team of doctors, nurses, and paramedical staff from Wockhardt Hospitals, Mira Road, ensured that the screenings were carried out efficiently and that participants received appropriate medical guidance.
Commenting on the initiative, Dr. Sushil Kumar, Centre Head, Wockhardt Hospitals, Mira Road, said, “Traffic police personnel are the backbone of road safety and often neglect their own health while performing their duties. Through this health check-up camp, we aimed to promote early detection of health issues and encourage regular medical monitoring. At Wockhardt Hospitals, preventive healthcare and community outreach remain key priorities under our CSR initiatives.”
The health camp was well appreciated by the traffic police personnel from Kashimira and Golden Nest Police Stations, who welcomed the hospital’s efforts in supporting their well-being. Wockhardt Hospitals, Mira Road, continues to actively engage in community-based health initiatives, contributing to improved public health and social responsibility.
