Safir Anand, Renowned IPR Lawyer, Unveils IP Feast 3.0

New Delhi, October 29, 2024: The third edition of IP Feast, founded by Safir Anand, a celebrated IPR lawyer and Senior Partner at Anand & Anand, took place at Gallery 1AQ, Mehrauli, New Delhi, on October 25, 2024. This highly anticipated event, now in its third year, continued to provide a unique platform that honored and celebrated India’s creative, cultural, and intellectual contributions across various industries.

This edition of IP Feast was made particularly special by its focus on showcasing India’s creative and innovative spirit, with a particular emphasis on intellectual properties born and nurtured in the country. The event served as a powerful reminder of how India’s rich heritage shapes its future, by spotlighting homegrown brands, entrepreneurs, and thought leaders who are pioneering change globally.

This year’s edition of IP Feast also honored India’s exceptional Paralympians, celebrating their remarkable achievements on the global stage. Yogesh Kathuniya, who secured a Silver Medal in Discus Throw at the Paris 2024 Paralympics, was recognized for his incredible feat, further strengthening India’s presence in international athletics. Another honoree, Pranav Soorma, a Silver Medalist in the Paris Paralympics and Gold Medalist in the Asian Games, set a world record with a club throw of 37.23 meters, symbolizing determination and excellence. Rubina Francis was also acknowledged for her outstanding contributions to Indian sports. These athletes not only represented the pinnacle of athletic achievement but also embodied extraordinary resilience and have become an inspiration for millions across the globe with their journeys.

An exciting addition to this year’s event was a special session featuring two prominent global intellectual property leaders. Dana Brown Northcott, Vice President and Associate General Counsel for Amazon’s Intellectual Property, and Etienne Sanz de Acedo, CEO of the International Trademark Association (INTA), shared insights on global intellectual property trends and their implications for Indian businesses and innovators. This session provided valuable perspectives from a global stage, offering Indian brands and entrepreneurs a roadmap to navigate the evolving landscape of intellectual property protection and innovation.

The event also featured a series of insightful panel discussions, exploring how India’s intellectual property is driving its growing influence worldwide. Some of India’s most prominent voices from industries like fashion, food, luxury, publishing, law, and performance arts came together to share their perspectives.

Mr. Manish Malhotra, the iconic Fashion Designer, whose groundbreaking designs have transformed the Indian fashion industry globally, shared his experiences at the event. Rupesh Shinde, Co-Founder of Design Qandy, and Mansi Saxena, Founder and CEO of Kali, provided insights into the legal landscape of IP in India. Pratibha Pralad, Bubbles Sabharwal, Veteran Theatre Artist, and Samit Garg, Co-Founder of E-Factor Entertainment, explored the intersection of arts and IP. Pravin Anand, a leading IPR Lawyer whose work has shaped the IP landscape in India, participated, as well as Meeran Chadha, a visionary entrepreneur, and Gautam Trivedi, representing India’s entrepreneurial spirit. Restaurateurs Maroof Umar Culmen and Zorawar Kalra, Economist and Historian Sanjeev Sanyal, celebrated culinary experts Chef Janeya Mehta and Chef Jatin Malick, Food Critic Rinku Madan, and Amit Bagga, Co-Founder of Daryaganj, engaged in thought-provoking conversations about how Indian creativity and innovation are setting new benchmarks in global markets.

Following the panel discussions, a showcase of India’s leading homegrown brands took center stage, with Safir Anand personally curating a lineup that exemplified Indian excellence. Holly Belly, known for its creative culinary ventures, joined Bili Hu, pioneers in the Indian coffee scene. Daryaganj highlighted its efforts to revive Delhi’s culinary heritage while Louis Burger brought India’s gourmet burger sensation to the forefront. Adding to the cultural vibrancy of the event were captivating performances, including an enthralling Kathak recital by Shivani Varma and a soulful musical performance by the Qutubi Brothers. These performances not only celebrated India’s artistic diversity but also provided a rich cultural context to the discussion around intellectual property and creativity.
