Puri, Apr 8: The second phase of the historic Ratna Bhandar inventory at the revered Jagannath Temple commenced today, marking a significant step in the systematic documentation and audit of the temple’s invaluable ornaments and treasures.

This phase will focus on detailed verification, cataloguing, and assessment of precious items preserved within the Ratna Bhandar, ensuring transparency, accuracy, and preservation of the temple’s rich heritage.

In a parallel development, the Government of Odisha has approved a ₹18 crore project to introduce advanced, high-tech illumination for the 12th-century Shree Mandir. The initiative aims to enhance the temple’s architectural grandeur and spiritual ambiance during nighttime while maintaining its traditional aesthetics and heritage value.

Officials stated that the lighting project will utilize modern technology to highlight the intricate design and cultural significance of the temple, making it more visually captivating for devotees and visitors.

The combined efforts of the Ratna Bhandar inventory and the illumination project underline the state government’s commitment to preservation, modernization, and promotion of one of India’s most iconic spiritual landmarks.
