27th June 2024- President Droupadi Murmu delivered her first presidential address to the joint sitting of Parliament following the formation of the third National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government. President Murmu congratulated the newly-elected MPs and praised the Election Commission for successfully conducting the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Highlighting the government’s achievements, President Murmu mentioned that the upcoming Budget will present a futuristic vision. The 18th Lok Sabha‘s first session began on Monday, while the Rajya Sabha session commences today.
Additionally, Om Birla was re-elected as the Lok Sabha Speaker for the second consecutive term after a motion moved by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
