June 18, 2024 – Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the new Nalanda University campus on June 19. The university, named after the ancient seat of learning from 1,600 years ago, has been developed as a joint collaboration between India and East Asia Summit (EAS) countries.
PM Modi will visit the ruins of ancient Nalanda, at 9:45 am before inaugurating the new campus at 10:30 am. The ceremony will be attended by the heads of missions from 17 countries, Bihar Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
The university, which moved to its under-construction campus in 2020, boasts a Net Zero campus with expansive water bodies spread over 100 acres of its 455-acre area.
