26 Oct 2024: Niti Aayog member VK Paul highlighted the transformative public healthcare efforts underway via the PM-Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PM-ABHIM), a Rs 64,000 crore initiative aimed toward building resilient fitness structures throughout India. The venture includes full-size investments in primary and secondary healthcare and a reinforced public fitness infrastructure designed to better respond to destiny pandemics.
“Under PM-ABHIM, Public Health Units and labs could be set up in each block, and Integrated Public Health Units in six hundred districts. The National Centre for Disease Control will extend to 30 branches, and the National Institute of Virology will benefit new nearby facilities, inclusive of 3 additional BSL-four labs,” Paul defined.
PM-ABHIM is likewise set to create 30,000 vital care beds nationwide, strengthening secondary healthcare facilities via important care blocks in District and Central Health Hospitals. Additionally, a National Institute of One Health is being established, selling a holistic method of fitness throughout sectors. The newly permitted National One Health Mission will coordinate and enhance One Health tasks across ministries, paving the way for complete fitness preparedness at all ranges. Launched with a finance of Rs 64,180 crore, PM-ABHIM is geared to empower India’s health systems to reply successfully to both modern-day and future public fitness challenges.
