Odisha Proposes Removal of Red Traffic Lights to Ease Traffic

25th June 2024- In a bid to address ongoing traffic signal issues, the Urban Development Ministry has proposed the removal of red traffic lights. Urban Development Minister Krushna Chandra Mahapatra informed the potential solution today, highlighting the need to change traffic signals to improve traffic flow.

While the proposal is still in its preliminary stages, with departmental discussions yet to be completed, the minister emphasized that if necessary, the state government will seek assistance from the central government to implement the new traffic signal system.
