10th June 2024- Narendra Modi took the oath of office for a historic third consecutive term as Prime Minister, alongside 72 ministers, in a grand ceremony held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan on Sunday. The oath was administered by President Murmu.
With this milestone, Narendra Modi joins the ranks of Jawaharlal Nehru, India’s first Prime Minister, who also served three straight terms. In adherence to the principles of ‘coalition dharma’, the new Council of Ministers comprises 11 ministers from NDA partners, forming a 72-member team for Modi 3.0. This team includes 30 Cabinet Ministers, 5 Ministers of State with Independent Charge, and 36 Ministers of State.
Following Prime Minister Modi, key leaders such as Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, and Nitin Gadkari, along with 35 other Cabinet Ministers, also took the oath of office on Sunday. The ceremony was graced by the presence of several leaders from neighbouring countries and other nations.
In his first official action after taking the oath, Prime Minister Modi signed a file about the release of funds for the PM Kisan Nidhi scheme, reaffirming his commitment to the welfare of farmers and rural communities.

“India is now recognized as a globally attractive destination and is poised to become the third-largest economy. We are confident that the nation will achieve enhanced economic progress and sustainable development under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visionary leadership.
We expect the continuation of broad policy frameworks and the government’s continued focus on capital expenditure and infrastructure development. To further solidify India’s position in the global marketplace, a greater emphasis is needed on fostering robust domestic manufacturing, generating employment opportunities, and revitalizing the rural economy. By prioritizing these key drivers of growth, the Indian economy is bound to thrive.”
