Modi’s 3.0 Government Unveils Council of Ministers with Mix of New Faces and Continuity

In the latest development from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s administration, the council of ministers for the 3.0 government has been announced, showcasing a blend of fresh talent and familiar faces. With at least 30 ministers holding cabinet rank, the new cabinet reflects Modi’s strategic choices in leading the nation forward.

Notably, several ministers from the previous administration have retained their portfolios, including Nirmala Sitharaman, who continues as the Finance Minister, and Annapurna Devi, who takes over as the Minister for Women and Child Development.

Among the new additions are former Congress leader Ravneet Singh Bittu, now serving as the Junior Minister in Railways and Food Processing, and L Murugan, former state chief of BJP in Tamil Nadu, assuming the role of junior minister for Information and Broadcasting.

The cabinet also sees representation from various political parties, with HD Kumaraswamy of the Janata Dal Secular (JDS) appointed as the Minister of Steel and Heavy Industries, and Jitan Ram Manjhi of Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) taking charge as Minister for MSMEs.

Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh of the Janata Dal-United (JDU) has been appointed as the Minister of Panchayati Raj, along with additional responsibilities in Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying.

Furthermore, Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu from the TDP is named the new Minister of Civil Aviation, while Chirag Paswan of the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) assumes the role of Minister of Food Processing Industries.

In a statement, Jaishankar expressed his gratitude for being appointed as the Minister of External Affairs, highlighting the honour bestowed upon him in serving the nation.

Nitin Gadkari, a prominent member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), retains his position in the Cabinet, where he will continue his role as the Minister for Road Transport and Highways. Amit Shah, another stalwart of the BJP, assumes the crucial responsibility of the Minister of Home Affairs, overseeing the nation’s internal security and law enforcement. Additionally, Dharmendra Pradhan maintains his position as the Minister of Education, tasked with shaping and enhancing the educational landscape of the country. Additionally, BJP leader Arjun Ram Meghwal is set to continue his role as Minister of State (independent charge) in the Ministry of Law and Justice, reaffirming the government’s commitment to upholding the rule of law.

Overall, the composition of Modi’s 3.0 government reflects a strategic balance of continuity and change, aimed at addressing the diverse needs of the nation and propelling it towards growth and development.
