The Ministry of Education will host the fourth edition of the Kashi Tamil Sangamam (KTS) 4.0 from 2 December 2025, continuing its mission to celebrate the deep-rooted civilizational and cultural ties between Tamil Nadu and Kashi. The initiative, envisioned by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, embodies the spirit of Ek Bharat Shreshta Bharat by strengthening cultural, linguistic, and people-to-people connections.
The programme is being jointly coordinated by IIT Madras and Banaras Hindu University (BHU), with support from multiple ministries including Culture, Information & Broadcasting, Tourism, Textiles, Food Processing Industries, MSME; Skill Development and Entrepreneurship; and IRCTC, along with the Government of Uttar Pradesh.
Launched in 2022, the Kashi Tamil Sangamam has grown into a major cultural bridge, drawing enthusiastic participation from people across both regions. Over the years, it has successfully revived historical bonds and encouraged academic collaborations, cultural exchanges, and youth engagement.
Building on the success of previous editions, KTS 4.0 aims to further enrich mutual understanding through expanded learning experiences, cultural immersion, scholarly interactions, and deeper youth involvement.
