Pernem, Mar 20: IT Minister Shri Rohan Khaunte conducted a comprehensive review of the Electronic Manufacturing Cluster (EMC) at Tuem during a stakeholder meeting held on March 18, 2026. The review underscored the government’s commitment to expedite project completion and ensure the facility is fully ready for operational use.

 The meeting was attended by key officials including Shri Kabir Shirgaonkar, Director, DITE&C; Shri Praveen Volvotkar, Managing Director, ITG; Shri Subrai Nadkarni, Chief Engineer, ITG; Dr. Milind Sakhardande, Joint Director, DITE&C; along with senior representatives from the Department of Information Technology, Electronics & Communications (DITE&C), Goa Information Technology Development Corporation (GITDC), Info Tech Corporation Goa (ITG), Goa Electricity Department, Public Works Department (PWD), Goa Police, and the Directorate of Fire & Emergency Services.

During the site walkthrough, the Minister inspected key facilities including the warehouse, waste management building, and other infrastructure components. Emphasizing the importance of timely execution, Shri Khaunte directed stakeholders to complete physical infrastructure, essential utilities, and common amenities to enable seamless operations.

The review meeting provided a platform for various departments to discuss logistical requirements and operational readiness. The Minister addressed specific needs raised by the Fire and Emergency Services and the Electricity Department, while also highlighting the urgency of installing a communication and internet tower. He instructed officials to take immediate action to ensure the project progresses without delays.

Shri Khaunte also stressed the importance of maintaining high standards of upkeep, safety, and security, ensuring that the facility is fully prepared ahead of its operational phase.

Concluding the review, the Minister reaffirmed the strategic importance of EMC Tuem for Goa’s economic future.

“The Electronic Manufacturing Cluster at Tuem is vital for Goa’s growth. By developing this as a dedicated electronics manufacturing hub, we aim to attract new investments, create high-quality employment opportunities, and strengthen Goa’s position on India’s industrial map,” he said.

The EMC Tuem project is expected to play a key role in boosting electronics manufacturing in the region, supporting innovation, and driving sustainable industrial development in Goa.
