India’s top male golfer, Shubhankar Sharma, along with compatriot Gaganjeet Bhullar, have secured their spots for the Paris Olympic Games. They will be representing India at the prestigious Golf National course in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines in August.
Shubhankar’s qualification was confirmed after the International Golf Federation (IGF) revealed its Olympic qualification list of 60 men and women golfers. Ranked 222nd in the Official World Golf Ranking, Shubhankar qualified with an Olympic rank of 48, marking his debut at the Games. Recently, he signed as a Brand Ambassador for Roundglass Sports and has two DP World Tour titles and eight career titles to his name.
Gaganjeet, an 11-time Asian Tour champion and silver medalist at the 2006 Asian Games, also secured his place following the IGF’s announcement. The Olympic Golf tournament is scheduled from August 1-4, 2024.
