21st June 2024- In a dominant performance, India defeated Afghanistan by 47 runs in a T20 World Cup Super Eight match on Thursday, maintaining their unbeaten streak in the tournament. Batting first after winning the toss, India posted a formidable total of 181 for 8 in 20 overs, thanks to key contributions from Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya. Yadav scored a blistering 53 off 28 balls, while Pandya added a valuable 32 runs.
Afghanistan team started their chase strongly but failed quickly against India’s bowling attack. Jasprit Bumrah’s stellar performance, conceding only seven runs in his four overs and taking three crucial wickets, set the tone. Arshdeep Singh also shone with three wickets for 36 runs.
