Himanshu Roy Foundation announces the Himanshu Roy Legacy Awards 2026, opening nominations from across India to honour exceptional individuals and institutions whose work reflects integrity in action and service to the nation.

Instituted in 2025, the Awards honour the enduring legacy of the late Himanshu Roy, IPS, a distinguished officer of the Maharashtra cadre remembered for his unwavering courage, ethical leadership, and deep compassion. Conceived not merely as an annual ceremony but as a national platform for recognising principled excellence, the Awards spotlight those who lead with conviction and serve with purpose.
The awards will confer honours across three distinguished categories. The National Security category will recognise officers, security professionals, and institutions that safeguard the nation with exemplary bravery, integrity, and leadership. The Medicine & Healing category will honour doctors, researchers, and healthcare institutions advancing patient care, medical research, and compassionate intervention. The Indian Classical Music category will celebrate artistes and organisations committed to preserving, promoting, and enriching India’s classical music heritage. Each award carries a cash prize of INR 5 Lakhs.
Announcing the call for nominations, Bhavna Roy, Author and Chairperson of the Himanshu Roy Foundation, said,

Through this platform, we seek to honour individuals whose work creates measurable impact while upholding the highest ethical values. We invite the country to nominate those who lead quietly, decisively, and with purpose.”

For 2026, nominations are open to Indian citizens and organisations. Both self-nominations and peer nominations are welcome. Submissions must be completed online through the official Himanshu Roy Foundation website, accompanied by a detailed nomination form and supporting documentation outlining measurable impact and contributions. The nomination portal is now live and will remain open until late April 2026. An independent jury comprising respected leaders across domains will undertake a rigorous review process in May 2026. The Awards Ceremony is scheduled for June 2026.
