New Delhi/Goa: In a significant development in the Goa nightclub fire case, Thai authorities have deported the Luthra brothers to India following their detention in Thailand. The duo, who were wanted by Indian investigative agencies in connection with the deadly fire incident at a Goa nightclub, were sent back after India pursued their return through diplomatic and legal channels.

According to official sources, the Luthra brothers had allegedly left India soon after the incident and were staying in Thailand without valid long-term documentation. Acting on inputs shared by Indian authorities, Thai immigration officials detained them for violating local immigration laws, paving the way for their deportation.

The brothers arrived in India earlier today and were taken into custody by Indian law enforcement agencies for further questioning. They are expected to be produced before a local court in Goa, where the case is being investigated.

The nightclub fire, which occurred earlier this year, claimed multiple lives and left several others injured, triggering nationwide outrage over alleged safety violations and lapses in regulatory oversight. Investigators have been probing the role of the nightclub’s management and associated individuals in allegedly flouting fire safety norms.

Officials said the deportation marks a crucial step in advancing the investigation and ensuring accountability. Further legal proceedings against the Luthra brothers are expected in the coming days as authorities continue to piece together the circumstances that led to the tragic incident.
