Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Dr. Virendra Kumar inaugurated the Ministry Pavilion at the India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2025 in New Delhi, unveiling more than 40 stalls dedicated to showcasing the talent, products, and innovations of Divyang artisans and entrepreneurs. The event, held at Bharat Mandapam, was attended by Minister of State Shri B. L. Verma, Secretary Shri Amit Yadav, and senior officials, underscoring the government’s continued commitment to inclusive economic development.

The stalls, supported by the Department for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD), present a diverse range of exhibits—from assistive technologies and innovative devices to handloom, handicrafts, and traditional art forms created by Divyang artisans. National Institutes and Public Sector Enterprises also participated, highlighting government-backed initiatives that promote skill development, entrepreneurship, and livelihood generation for persons with disabilities.

Dr. Virendra Kumar noted that the presence of Divyang entrepreneurs at IITF reflects a broader national push to nurture creativity and economic empowerment. By providing a platform to build sustainable incomes and meaningful careers, the initiative strengthens efforts toward a more inclusive and self-reliant India.

He emphasised that IITF serves as a powerful global stage for Divyangjan to promote and export their ‘Made in India’ products, aligning closely with the Prime Minister’s ‘Vocal for Local’ vision. The fair offers participants invaluable exposure, market access, and the opportunity to connect with international buyers, showcasing India’s commitment to empowering persons with disabilities through innovation, entrepreneurship, and economic participation.
