July 11, 2024 — Maharashtra’s Hingoli district experienced a 4.5 magnitude earthquake early Wednesday morning, causing tremors also felt in neighbouring Nanded and Parbhani districts. According to the National Centre for Seismology (NCS), the earthquake’s epicentre was located in Hingoli’s Kalmanuri area, occurring at a depth of 10 km.
This event marks the third earthquake in the Marathwada region this year. Earlier in March, earthquakes measuring 4.5 and 3.6 magnitudes were recorded with epicentres in Jamb village, Kalmanuri taluka, Hingoli. Residents reported feeling tremors around 7:14 a.m., prompting authorities to monitor the situation closely. No immediate reports of significant damage or injuries have been received.
